STUDENT OF THE MONTH

1) Tell us about yourself!

My name is Evelyn L.! I think of myself as a quirky, head in the clouds person who likes to read a lot. I have curly, brown hair that I like to call my “mane.” I love animals and the outdoors. It’s important to me to get good grades at school and I enjoy singing.

2) What is your favorite hobby?

I love to go on bike rides, read, and talk with my friends!

3) What got you interested in music? I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My mom loved to wake me up by singing to me in the mornings when I was a baby. Guess I caught onto the habit!

4) What has been the biggest thing you've discovered since starting music lessons with us?

The biggest thing that I learned since coming to the Music Academy was that when I was singing high, I needed to drop my jaw.

5) What is one of your life goals?

One of my life goals is to get my singing voice to its best potential. I love the satisfaction of being able to accomplish something that you’ve been working on for pretty much your entire life.

6) Anything else you would like to mention?

I am a contralto singer. A contralto is someone who can sing both alto and soprano, low and high.

7) What would you tell a friend about the

Music Academy of Acadiana? I would tell my friend that the teachers are awesome. When my teacher is doing something and wasn’t able to come, the sub is always helpful and kind. If they wanted to find a private tutor for band or chorus, or anything musical, I would suggest the Music Academy.
