1) Tell us about yourself!

My name is Matthew H., I am thirteen years old and am from California.We moved here a few years ago.

2) What is your favorite hobby?

My favorite hobbies are swimming on the swim team at Crawfish Aquatics and hanging out with my friends.

3) What got you interested in music? What inspired my interest in music was hearing my friends play instruments like piano or guitar, which sounded really beautiful and made me want to learn an instrument as well!

4) What has been the biggest thing you've discovered since starting music lessons with us?

It's so nice starting to know how to play an instrument because it is much better than watching TV like I did in my free time before piano which taught me nothing. Something big that I have discovered since starting music lessons is that the learning curve can be difficult at first not knowing any notes or octaves, but over time it gets so much easier and you can learn songs much quicker.

5) What is one of your life goals?

One of my life goals is to learn how to play the entertainer by Scott Joplin which is such an iconic song that I love and hope to play someday.

6) What would you tell a friend about the Music Academy of Acadiana? I would absolutely tell my friends about the Music Academy of Acadiana so that they could also learn an instrument of their own which is a lifelong skill that I hope to master.
