Tell us about yourself!
My name is Sophie and I'm currently 16 years old. I first started lessons at Music Academy of Acadiana in 2018, initially studying guitar. Although I greatly enjoyed my lessons, singing is ultimately where I found my home. It brings me so much joy and allows me to express myself in ways that words alone cannot. Whether I'm belting out my favorite tunes or performing on stage, music is my ultimate passion. I feel incredibly lucky to have found my voice and to be able to share it with others. It's through music that I can truly connect with people and make a positive impact.
What is your favorite hobby?
As an arts enthusiast, I have a deep passion for various forms of artistic expression. Singing is definitely one of my favorite hobbies, for all the reasons listed. Additionally, I also love exploring the world of visual arts, such as painting and drawing, where I can create beautiful and meaningful pieces. Theater is another area that captivates me, as it allows me to step into different characters and tell stories on stage. Overall, I find immense joy and fulfillment in participating in singing, visual arts, and theater, as they all allow me to unleash my creativity and share my love for the arts with others.
What got you interested in music?
Music has always been a part of my life, thanks to the musical influence from both sides of my family. Growing up, I was surrounded by an appreciation for various forms of music, which sparked my interest and passion for it. It was through this exposure and support that I developed a love for music and decided to pursue it further.
What has been the biggest thing you've discovered since starting music lessons with us?
I discovered that there were even more varieties of music than those I had already been exposed to. I also realized how much joy can be found in performing different genres.
What is one of your life goals?
As much as music means to me and as passionate as I am about it, my ultimate goal in life is to become a veterinarian. I have always had a deep love for animals and a desire to help them. Being able to care for and heal animals would bring a different kind of fulfillment and purpose to my life. While music will always hold a special place in my heart, my dream of becoming a veterinarian is what drives me forward.
Anything else you would like to mention?

It has been a highlight of my life for 6 years and I am so thankful to everyone whose helped me every step of the way.
